I did not know there was something called a Meta search engine!

I will use Meta search engine, especially jux2.com, now and then. No more Google or Yahoo!. Meta search engines are much more faster and it gives me three times the relevant results as compared to the normal search engines!

Presentation and Arrangement
The background of the website, the fonts used, the arrangement of facts, all of these are very well designed and maintained. It makes visitors feel the 'relaxed' mood. A mood that I am sure the holiday portrays.

Usability
This website is so usable, it entices you and make you feel the mood of being in the island. The effects they use is seamless. An effective way to navigate through the site. No jerks, it just flows smoothly... Like the waters in the Reef!

In all, the website has effectively transferred an intangible knowledge to me. It has let me taste a bit of the Islands of Great Barrier Reef.

I had always wanted to go to Australia since I was a kid. And across the years, I've made friends from Australia through tagged.com, bebo.com and facebook.com (popular internet social network services among Australians) and it so happens that my cousin is staying in Perth, Australia. Why the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef, in particular? Well, I am a person who loves nature and I believe that the Reef has a lot to offer to a nature-lover like me. It has the best waters in the world, as far as I am concerned, and it is just intriguing... How nature can be so beautiful... Especially at the Great Barrier Reef. And by the way, the best job in the world, which is to keep a blog about the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef also makes me more excited to go there!

This website is an entertainment website where funny videos, games, humour and made-up or fictional news reports are incorporated for the sole purpose of entertaining.

Currency

Being an entertainment website, I believe that it has to be updated frequently to keep the number of visitors influxed. The last update was on Monday, 11th of May 2009, in commentary of the capturing of Mas Selamat and this article had lured 1546 viewers! However, I could not see the trend of updates as the updates are not frequent. In May, there are currently three updates and the website went hiatus in April. And then in March, there are 7 updates but they were all done in the same day (29 March 2009). Therefore, I don't see a trend of currency in this website.

Being Invisible May Be A Blessing

I think it is more effective to search with Meta search engines still when it comes to researching on my research topic, which is 'Developments of internet social network services'. The results that I got from the invisible web such as SJLibrary.org, LexisNexis from Temasek Polytechnic's Spark and ITPRO were unconvincing and I had irrelevant results. A lot of these databases mainly focus on electronic journals which are in PDF format and most are outdated.

However, I would use these databases for future researches. SJLibrary provides electronic journals while LexisNexis provides statistics and news. ITPRO on the other hand provides books. This widens my research materials and mediums.
