ONLINE NETWORK SERVICES

Well, I can say that there is a lot of online network websites. Right now I will name 10 that pops out from my mind and will spontaneously describe it, hopefully within one minute each. And thus, thy shall not suffer from any 'overloaded information disorder'. You would not want to end up 'stoning' now, do you? Anyway.

#1 - Twitter.com
A website where you can update what you are doing. It mainly focuses on that and besides just updating text, you can also update pictures. They have also created a lot of platforms to make 'Twitter-ing' easy. There's TweetDeck where you can download it into your computer and get updates easily without having to go in and out of the website and keep clicking 'refresh' over and over again to keep updated about what friends are doing. Most Hollywood personalities and local celebrities are using this network service. So, besides being updated on friends, you can also keep yourself updated with celebrities.

#2 - Facebook.com
Facebook is an online community network where you can view pictures of friends and its similar to other websites like Friendster. com. However, Facebook is more popular for its applications. Facebook became more popular when this add-on had been introduced. You can play games and challenge your friends. In time, more and more applications are being developed. One flaw, viewing pictures in Facebook are not as easy as in Friendster.com.

#3 - Friendster
The most popular website amongst me and my huge circle of friends since 2003. One thing about friendster, looking at photos are easy, finding friends are easy, and online profiles are customizable and therefore, are made more interesting.

#4 - Habbo.com
First avatar chatting service that I've been introduced to since 2002. Create your avatar, and you can buy credits which comes in cards sold at 7-11 stores. This website is so addictive as you can create another 'life'. You would have rooms which are customizable, you can buy furnitures, work, play, and most of all, you can interact with people! Majority of which, you would consider as strangers. After a while, you'll find that it has been a waste of money and time.

#5 - Multiply.com
Multiply is a little bit of wordpress.com, livejournal.com and friendster.com. Most of us use it for blogging. Why? because that is one function that is best used? We would be constantly updated of updates from friends who have posted a new blog post or video.

#6 - Imeem.com
Popular website were you can upload songs, listen to songs, create playlists and easily embed it to your online profiles or blogs. This is a must-have in one of my tabs whenever I go online!

#7 - Bebo.com
You might not have heard about this, but maybe you might have. Bebo is popular among the Australian community. It is also the same as Friendster. So, no worries about that.

#8 - Photobucket.com
This one is a website majorly used for sharing photos. This website allows you to upload your pictures and edit them. And also, embed them easily as they provide codes and direct urls. This is an essential for bloggers like me who love to upload pictures but can't stand the waiting time taken for blogger or friendster to upload.

#9 - Myspace.com
Myspace is an online network whereby majority of its community are people who performs. Bands, duos, singers, celebrities... They use myspace as a portal to promote their talent and workpieces.

#10 - DeviantArt.com
This is a community of artists. And majority of these people use this website as portals to showcase their portfolios.

And therefore, my spontaneous description of online networking websites.

Disclaimer: I tried to put it in layman terms and this descriptions are based on my personal experience through years of usage. I had also tried to avoid describing websites that are most popular like youtube. And I hope you people would not get lost while I use similar terms like these in my future posts.

Ok thats all folks,
next up would be findings of my research (first phase). It will not be spontaneous, it will be a real finding okay, backed with citation! lol. Will put up a tagboard soon, links and twitter box will not be left out.

Will be back later,
Amirah
